It is the culmination of the Passion of Jesus, preceded by Lent (or Great Lent), a 40-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance.
As the Christians were this morning involved in the prayers, earth shuttering bomb blasts were heard not only in those three churches, but also in the country’s leading hotels – Shangrilla, Cinnamon Grand as well as in Kingsbury, which is located just a stone throw away from Sri Lanka Presidents oldest residential building.
