Colombo::A meeting of religious leaders headed by Venerable Thamanakaduwe Sri Kalyanitissa Nayaka Thero, Chief Sanganayaka of Eastern Province with the aim of fostering religious harmony took place at the 22 Division Headquarters at Trincomalee on Wednesday (30).
Major General Lal Perera, Security Force Commander (East), General Officer Commanding, 22 Division and a large gathering of religious leaders participated in the discussion that highlighted the importance of religious and ethnic harmony in the province without falling prey to extremist elements.
Similar meeting took place in Akkaraipattu and Batticaloa a few days ago.
