Sri Lanka Army Chief on Arrival in Delhi Greeted with Guard of Honour!

Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army currently in Delhi, India at the invitation of his Indian counterpart to attend several military ceremonies commenced the first leg of his itinerary on Monday (Dec 5) at the Red Fort, South Block of the Indian Army Headquarters in Delhi after paying floral tributes to the 'Amar Jawan Jyoti' ( war memorial).

The visiting Sri Lankan Commander, accompanied by the Adjutant General and the Director Training was received by Major General Rakesh Bassi DG (CE) at the entrance to the South Block of the Army Headquarters. Soon after the wreath laying, the visiting Army chief signed the Visitors Book and left a few courtesy lines as a token of memory of his visit to the Indian Army Headquarters.

The next moment added further significance to the red-carpeted welcome as Indian Army troop in full regalia greeted the visiting Sri Lankan Army chief with a Guard of Honour in accordance with military traditions.

Nestled in a portion of the South Block, the Delhi Army Headquarters stands along with the gigantic architecturally modern Sena Bavan in the adjacent premises.
